CTE Training - Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) Update

There are significant changes to the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) that go into effect July 1, 2015, and will need to be implemented during the coming year. In order to assist your agencies with compliance of the new requirements, workshops are being planned during the month of May to address and discuss these changes. We are asking that Perkins and Fiscal Coordinators be in attendance and strongly recommend that superintendents or their designee also attend. This training will also include Adult Education personnel. The EDGAR training will occur in a morning session and in the afternoon, Adult education and Perkins personnel will split into their respective sessions.

We are inviting CTE teachers to join Perkins coordinators in an afternoon session to further discuss the upcoming changes, along with discussing areas of opportunity within the world of Perkins. Areas highlighted during this session will include common areas of non-compliance found during federal program monitoring (FPM) visits. The theme for the entire day is centered on compliance and providing necessary technical assistance to ensure fully compliant agencies.

Plan on attending the meeting most convenient to your location. There will also be additional meetings throughout the State and a Webinar specific to EDGAR during the month of May.
